The Pragmatics Lady™

Effective Nonverbal Communications Education and Training

MAINTAIN THE EDGE

In today’s educational environment you need an edge to keep your school and staff running  smoothly. The Pragmatics Lady™ says It’s time to get back to basics. “It’s not what you say It’s  how you say it”.

The   key   to   building   a   strong   and   sustainable   school   climate   starts   and   stops   with  communication.   While   verbal   and   written   communication   skills   are   important,   research   has  shown   that   non-verbal   behaviors   make   up   93   percent   of   our   daily   interpersonal  communications.

Modeling behavior is the fastest way to teach desired communication skills.  When expectations  are set by staff, students will have a pathway to understanding the communication style and  culture of the school environment.

Key Pragmatics Foundations in the Classroom Include:

  • Diffusing and managing classroom conflict
  • Using tone and voice that facilitates more harmonious discussions between teachers & students, and students to students
  • Delivering constructive feedback in an objective matter
  • Modeling  appropriate communication (verbal  and non-verbal) inside and  outside the classroom
  • Dress Code Most communication training and education continue to focus on the 7 percent of communication which is verbal interactions. They are leaving the largest form of communication which is nonverbal completely utilized and improved
”The limits of my language mean the limits of my world.”
